Big thanks to everyone that came to our SolidWorks Workshop today! It was great to see people from our previous workshop as well as some new faces. We hope you all walked out learning something new and had an amazing experience. Be on the lookout for our next workshop where we'll be finishing the Thor's Hammer project.

Hello Everyone,
We are going to be hosting another SolidWorks Workshop in collaboration with ASME and BMES. It will be in room 112 Old Engineering from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. We are still organizing a way to host more workshops at a different time to accommodate students who are not able to attend this particular time. Based on the survey we sent out from last week, we will be continuing with basic SolidWorks ad 3D modeling. If you are interested please sign up below. We are still teaching new members who are part of the mini-electric boat to model the boat hull in 3D, but we need to teach the basics of SolidWorks first. Please remember we have a limit capacity of 42 seats. Thank you. http://goo.gl/forms/u5SK9QmqeN Hey Everyone,
Yesterday, we had our first Introduction to Solidworks Workshop. It was our first time doing such a workshop and we had a great attendance of 27 students. For the Solar Racing Team new members we will not be meeting this weekend (10/24/15) because there are not enough computers to use to teach SolidWorks. The goal of the next few lessons to learn how to more introduction material and get to the stage of surface modeling. Once you are advanced enough, you will be modeling a 3-D boat in SolidWorks and then 3-D print the boat in the Innovations Lab. We highly recommend everyone to use lynda.com to learn more about SolidWorks. Stony Brook Universtiy offers it for free to students. By the time each group finishes modeling the 3-D boat the rest of the material should be arriving to begin the next designing phase. Thank you! The Solar Racing Team is hosting a SolidWorks workshop this Friday. We'll be teaching the basics in SolidWorks to familiarize any beginners with its functions and interface. The time is to be determined based on the responses from the Google form. There are only 23 spots available for the workshop so RVSP before 5pm tomorrow! Hope to see you all there!
