The goal of the SolidWorks workshops is to empower students to use CAD to solve engineering challenges. For students who are interested in the Solar Racing Team, we have a couple of projects for students to use what they learned in the workshops and apply it to solve engineering challenges. You can check them out and signup at the following URL: http://sbusolarracing.weebly.com/projects.html This is a great way for students who do not have any industry experience to gain experience they can use to talk to employers.
As promised, our next SolidWorks Workshop is coming this Friday, March 11. Sign-up sheet is right below. This time we will be modeling Thor's Hammer! What will be different about this workshop is that we will place heavy emphasis on dimension of parts to aid in design.
We will also need to provide a cap of 25 students for the workshop, so if you are interested sign-up as soon as possible to reserve your spot, again you do not not need to be part of Solar Racing Team or an engineering major. http://goo.gl/forms/vxNnoc4871 We hope you to see you there! A big thank you to all of you who came to our first SolidWorks Workshop today! An even bigger thank you to Theta Thau, BMES and all our volunteers today making everything run smoothly. We hope you all learned a lot and hope to see you in future events!
